On Monday, former FBI Director James Comey will begin a book
tour to promote his memoir, "A Higher Loyalty." To counter his media
blitz, the RNC has set up a website to remind the American people of James
Comey's long history of misstatements and misconduct.
James Comey's performance as FBI Director was strongly
criticized by officials on both sides of the aisle. His long and
well-documented history of misstatements and misconduct politicized the FBI and
called into question the credibility of our nation's leading federal law
enforcement agency.
Now that James Comey is painting himself as a martyr and
launching petty personal attacks at President Trump, Democrats have
conveniently forgotten that many of them once publicly called for his
resignation.
Inevitably, Democrats will flock to the airwaves to support
James Comey's publicity tour, taking any opportunity possible to bash President
Trump on air. But they should be forced to explain why they take that position
now after saying in 2016 and 2017 Comey had damaged the institution of law
enforcement and lost all credibility.
As a reminder...
Nancy Pelosi suggested that Comey was “not in the right job.”

Bernie Sanders said, “It would not be a bad thing for the
American people if [Comey] did step down.”
Chuck Schumer said, “I do not have confidence in [Comey] any
longer.”
Maxine Waters said Comey “has no credibility” and deserved to be
fired.
It is also clear that James Comey's book tour is nothing but a
thinly veiled excuse for grandstanding, making money, and seeking retaliation
as a disgruntled former employee.
There is widespread agreement of that on both sides of the aisle
and among members of the media.
Fox News Anchor Chris Wallace called the book a "political foodfight."

FiveThirtyEight's Nate Silver said Comey's behavior was
"not particularly honorable."
Former Obama Adviser David Axelrod noted that Comey will while
Comey will "make a mint," the book will "just contribute to the
circus atmosphere."
And as CNN's Jamie Gangel reported, even FBI officials have expressed their distaste, noting that the book "crosses the line of professionalism."

James Comey does have a higher loyalty... to himself. And he
isn't fooling anyone otherwise.

Rep. Paul Gosar: Comey Is A 'Disgraced Former Official Working In The Pursuit Of Retaliation Instead Of Justice.' "Over the past year, Comey not only undermined the important work being done by the FBI, he also put Democrats’ hypocrisy in full view. The same Democrats who once highlighted Comey’s lack of credibility came to embrace him as soon as he began attacking President Trump. As Comey prepares for his upcoming book tour, Americans know that his attempts to smear President Trump and the administration are nothing more than a disgraced former official working in the pursuit of retaliation instead of justice." Chris Wallace: I'm Surprised At 'How Bitchy' Comey's Book Is.
“'What strikes me, is how little new there is in the book,' Wallace said. 'We
get a lot of opinions, unpleasant opinions of the president by James Comey. But
in terms of hard facts, people are talking about bombshells, there are
none.'" (Joe Concha, "Chris Wallace: I'm Surprised At 'How Bitchy'
