A former official at the US State
Department and associate of Arizona Senator John McCain officially invoked the
fifth amendment and refuses to speak with the House Intelligence Committee’s
probe into the infamous ‘Trump Dossier;’ reports Fox News.
David Kramer -a key figure behind Christopher
Steele’s debunked dossier- refuses to speak with Congressional investigators
over his role in handing the shady document to the FBI back in 2016.
Rep. Devin Nunes has been struggling for
weeks to determine if the dossier was used to obtain FISA warrants against the
Trump campaign to surveil the team in the run-up to Inauguration Day.
According to inside sources, the former State
Dept. official was issued a subpoena to appear before Rep. Nunes’ Committee in
mid-January but has yet to appear.
A “law enforcement source confirmed, however,
that Kramer did not appear and has exercised his Fifth Amendment rights,”
confirms Fox.
Kramer’s refusal to speak with Congressional
investigators over his relationship with former British spy Christopher Steele
raises serious legal and ethical questions over the FBI and State Department’s
role in creating and promoting the anti-Trump dossier. First posted: Hannity.com
