Devin Kelley Court Martialed, Dishonorably Discharged From AF Texas Shooter Killing 26

Devin P. Kelley, who was court martialed from the U.S. Air Force, was identified as the gunman who walked into the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, on Sunday morning and murdered at least 26 people, wounding many more.

A man opened fire inside of a church in a small South Texas community on Sunday, killing more than 20 people and wounding others before being “taken down,” authorities said.
CBS affiliate KENS 5, San Antonio reports that the shooting happened at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, which is 30 miles southeast of San Antonio. An official told The Associated Press that more than 20 people were killed in the attack.
Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackitt told the Wilson County News that a man entered the church and opened fire. He said the shooter is now dead.
The gunman has been identified as Devin Patrick Kelley, 26.
CBS News reported the gunman served in the U.S. Air Force from 2010 to 2014, but was court martialed in May 2014 and was subjected to a dishonorable discharge.
CBS News reported the gunman was shot after a car chase with police. It was not clear whether he shot himself or police shot him.
“We still don’t know much about what happened, other than this guy came in around 11:15 a.m. and started shooting everybody in the church,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said on CBSN.
