Arizona Business Leader Reacts to U.S. Senate Finance Committee Hearing on Tax Reform The Border Adjustment Tax Notably Absent In Hearing
Phoenix, Arizona – Jim Mapstead, owner of Accurate Signs and Engraving, a premier provider of laser engraving services, released the following statement reacting to the lack of discussion of the Border Adjustment Tax (BAT) in today’s Senate Finance Committee hearing and urged leaders in the House of Representatives to drop the proposal that is stalling tax reform:
“Obviously tax reform is very needed. But the Border Adjustment Tax is the wrong way to go about it. Putting a tax on the small business owners of this country is short sighted and will do severe damage to the retail community. I’m hopeful that as the discussion on tax reform moves through the Senate, any mention of a BAT is immediately shot down. ” said Jim Mapstead, owner of Accurate Signs and Engraving.
