Smoking is the number
one cause of preventable death in the United States, according to the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention. When someone wants to quit using tobacco, he
or she can call the Arizona Smokers’ Helpline, commonly called the ASHLine,
where they will be connected to a coach who works with them on an individual
coaching plan to help them quit for good.

Phoenix Mercury; and Luis “Gonzo” Gonzalez, World Series champion, Arizona
Diamondbacks.
What: The Arizona Department
of Health Services will debut its new public awareness campaign, Coaches on
Coaching, that encourages smokers who want to quit to call the ASHLine. The
campaign features Sandy Brondello, head coach, Phoenix Mercury; Earl Watson,
head coach, Phoenix Suns; Todd Graham, head coach, Arizona State University
Football; Tony La Russa, Hall of Fame baseball manager, advisor/analyst to the
Arizona Diamondbacks; Dave Tippett, head coach, Arizona Coyotes; Frank Yallop,
head coach, Arizona United; and Lute Olson, legendary head coach, University of
Arizona Basketball.

2016 from 10 to 11 a.m.
