Taking the Responsibility to Secure the Homeland Seriously
In response to the recent terrorist attacks by radical Islamic jihadists in Paris, the House of Representatives recently passed the American SAFE Act (H.R. 4038).  This legislation, which I cosponsored, would pause the Syrian refugee program until the law enforcement and intelligence community can verify that each and every person coming to the United States isn’t a security threat.  You can see my remarks on the House floor on this important bill here.
You can also listen to my recent appearance on WBAP’s “The Chris Salcedo Show” here, where I discussed the Syrian refugee program.
Working to Audit and Reform the Federal Reserve
Recently, the House passed legislation that would audit and reform the Federal Reserve to make it more transparent and accountable to the American people.  This legislation, the Fed Oversight and Reform and Modernization (FORM) Act (H.R. 3189), was legislation developed by the House Financial Services Committee, which I have the privilege to chair.  You can read my remarks I gave in support of the bill on the House floor here.
You can also see my Wall Street Journal op-ed regarding the FORM Act here.
Working to Stop the President’s Unconstitutional Executive Amnesty
Recently, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld an injunction against President Obama’s unlawful executive action on immigration.  You can watch my appearance on Fox News Channel’s “The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson” here to catch my reaction to the court’s ruling and my thoughts on the President’s unconstitutional executive action on immigration.
Appointing a Special Prosecutor to Investigate Hillary Clinton
Last week, I joined 43 of my house colleagues in sending a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch requesting the appointment of a Special Prosecutor in the ongoing investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private and unsecured server while conducting official State Department and government business. The Obama administration has not been cooperative or transparent, and the American people deserve to know the truth. This is why we have urged Attorney General Lynch to appoint an impartial special counsel to properly investigate this matter without bias. Read more about our actions in Breitbart here.
