Phoenix AZ Residents Beware Of "Juror SCAM"

Feds warn Phoenix-area residents about 'juror' scam

Federal officials are warning Valley residents about another scam in which callers try to get personal information by posing as representatives of the U.S. Marshals Service in search of jurors.

The callers typically contact residents and state that the recipient failed to report for jury duty, according to the Marshals Service.

The callers then threaten residents with jail time or fines if they do not provide personally identifiable and/or credit-card information, a Marshals spokesman said.

Many victims have also been asked to use money wire services to pay a fine associated with failing to report to jury duty, officials say. Read More
