Have you heard of the governor’s secret police plan? Yesterday, Laurie Roberts wrote a scathing article of our governor’s attempts to bypass the public, click here to read.
Included in his proposal is a new office to which he appoints an Inspector General with subpoena powers and secrecy.
The legislature needs to approve this first but unfortunately the Republican leadership isn’t much more welcoming to the public with their plans to close caucus meetings and rushing through the budget.
I will vote against measures that take away transparency of government from the public.
We need more transparency in government and the political process, not less.
