WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following Passover message:
"As our Jewish friends in America, in Israel, and across the world mark the start of Passover tonight, I wish them a celebration surrounded by family and loved ones," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.
"Passover commemorates the great Exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt thousands of years ago, but its celebration of the triumph of freedom over oppression is as meaningful today as ever.
"The story, ancient yet eternal, is uplifting for all. But it is also a reminder that as a free people, we must always stand for liberty and for justice. On Passover, we are especially mindful of our strong alliance with Israel, standing with the Jewish state and against those who seek to destroy her."
"This night truly is different from all other nights," said RNC Co-Chairman Sharon Day. "In Jewish tradition, families will gather around the Seder table to observe the traditions of the faith. And people of all faiths join together in affirming our common love of peace and freedom for all.
