WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on the second anniversary of ObamaCare:
"Today is the two-year anniversary of ObamaCare, but President Obama is not celebrating. He would rather Americans forget about his signature 'accomplishment,' because today it is a massive, undeniable failure and a heap of broken promises.
"President Obama promised to lower premiums for families, but they will skyrocket into the future. He promised we could keep our health care plans, yet 20 million Americans could lose theirs.
"He promised to protect seniors, but their health is now in the hands of fifteen unelected bureaucrats ready to deny them care.
"He said it was good for the economy; it's killing jobs and raising taxes. He promised to cut costs; taxpayers will spend $1.76 trillion over 10 years.
"Either Barack Obama misled the American people, or he did not read his own bill.
"Obama's big government health care takeover is so unpopular that two thirds of Americans want the Supreme Court to throw out all or part of it.
"If Democrats won't hold themselves accountable, Republicans will. We will relentlessly force them to admit their failures, so that voters understand what's at stake in November. After Republicans win on Election Day, we will put an end to ObamaCare's destruction and pursue true health care reforms that give power to patients, not to bureaucrats."
