STATEMENT FROM RNC CHAIRMAN MICHAEL STEELE ON ......

THE OBSERVANCE OF CONSTITUTION DAY
WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:
“As we celebrate the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, I urge you to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in a nation that provides each and every one of us the chance to achieve greatness, no matter our race, religion, gender, or background. These opportunities have been made possible because of our country’s Constitution that was created to protect the rights of all American citizens.
“Over the years our Nation has been tested by our enemies who want nothing more than to destroy the very freedoms this country was founded on. Yet we have never cowered in fear or run from the opposition because as Americans, we are standing for the freedom and liberty of our own lives, and for generations to come. This is why we must consciously work to educate future generations about the importance of our Constitution and the vital role it has on our country’s well being. On behalf of the Republican National Committee, I hope you will join me in honoring today’s celebration of Constitution Day and remembering how thankful we are to call the United States of America our home.”
