Parker is currently waging a formidable campaign to replace the popular John Shadegg, who has decided to retire after many years of outstanding service to the Third Congressional District. Parker previously served as General Counsel of a major federal Agency, then in the White House as Special Assistant to President George H. W. Bush. Later, Parker was nominated by President George W. Bush and unanimously confirmed with bipartisan support by the United States Senate, as an Assistant Secretary at the United States Department of Agriculture. A small businessman, Parker also served as a pastor for two years at a small non-denominational church in Paradise Valley. He is a graduate of Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C., where he met his wife, Lisa, a second generation Arizonan. Parker will take his message of cutting taxes, border security and creating policies that help the private sector create jobs to the nation’s capitol.

Vernon B. Parker has a rich history as a Former Mayor, in the private sector, and volunteer service.
Received a record 67% of the vote in the 2008 Paradise Valley Town Council election and was subsequently tapped by his colleagues to serve as mayor. As Mayor spending was cut and taxes lowered.Promised one year as Mayor and kept that promise.
Appointed by President Bush and unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate as Assistant Secretary at the United States Department of Agriculture.
Served as a Special Assistant to President George H.W. Bush in the White House.

Founded own law firm and small business.
