VERNON PARKER, The New Face of Conservatism!!!
Recently Vernon was featured on Channel 3’s “Politics Unplugged” program. The show is focused on local coverage of Arizona politics and airs on Sunday evenings.

Send Your Grocery Lists to Congress as a Reminder of What a Budget Looks Like
In response to the recent news announced by Rep. Steny Hoyer that Democrats would not pass a budget, and that Democrats plan to raise taxes on the middle class—
Mayor Vernon Parker issued the following statement:
“This is the definition of insanity, Congressional Democrats have no idea what the costs of running the government are, but they are insisting on a middle class tax hike? It defies logic, and clearly Arizona deserves better than this," said Mayor Vernon Parker.
“Today I urge every Arizonan to mail a copy of their family’s grocery list to Congress to help remind them that planning and budgeting is something real families do every day, and it is something we expect our country to do too," concluded Parker.
“House Democrats will not pass a budget blueprint in 2010, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) will confirm in a speech on Tuesday…The House has never failed to pass an annual budget resolution since the current budget rules were put into place in 1974.” (Jared Allen, “Dems won’t pass budget in 2010,” The Hill, 6/22/2010)
Previously Hoyer admitted that he supports tax increases to cover Democratic spending.
“Tax increases may be necessary to rein in $12 trillion in federal debt, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Monday. Hoyer emphasized the need to reform Social Security and Medicare, but he also made it clear that raising taxes will have to be on the table.” (Walter Alarkon, “Hoyer: Raising Taxes a Realistic Option,” The Hill, 3/1/10)
Vernon Parker has a strong record of fighting against tax increases, and has continually said that American's cannot tax our way into prosperity, but rather we must reduce the tax burden to grow the economy and get people working again.
