U.S. Congress Returns from Recess to Debate Iran

The U.S. Congress returns from its summer recess with the Iran nuclear deal, negotiated in July, topping the agenda. Official debate (AP) on the agreement opens on Tuesday. Though the deal has garnered enough support to uphold a presidential veto, fierce opposition among congressional leaders remains.
Sustained diplomacy led to the Iran nuclear deal, but it’s too soon to expect broader discussions between Tehran and Washington, says expert James Dobbins in this CFR Interview.
