TODAY in 1913 Congress got Americans by the short hairs and has been holding on, ever since...
Today, in 1913, the 16th Amendment, authorizing the income tax, is ratified. And, America’s long-term fiscal challenges were solved…Originally only was to be short term and YES it was a Democrat.
Woodrow Wilson was President,  leader of the Progressive Movement, he served as President of Princeton University from 1902 to 1910, and then as the Governor of New Jersey from 1911 to 1913. Running against Progressive ("Bull Moose") Party candidate Theodore Rooseveltand Republican candidate William Howard Taft, Wilson was elected President as a Democrat in 1912.
